Description

For :iconalbinoraven666fanart: "Fill in the gaps" contest. This is my design of Akina's father.

Personality:
Kuzurura a loving individual with a desire to protect everyone he loves even if it means his death. Fairly witty, and quick on his feet. Loyal to those who matter.

Background:

Kuzurura was born into a desert pride, with a tyrant as the pride leader. Many times murdering cubs that were not his own. When his mother realized how dangerous the leader was for her son, she immediately ran off with him. She found a small spot a safe place for them, her mate had disappeared a few months prior. She was not sure if he was dead or alive, it didn’t matter as she had to take care of their son. She raised him well, always saying, “Push forward, let nothing stop you, push til have you nothing left to give. It will save you!” Time of course passed like always, and it was time for him to find his way in the world. He left unwillingly.

He made his way towards the desert nothing but sand and heat. He kept walking exhausted, and sat down. Looking at the desert, he saw a body he couldn’t make it out too clearly. Hoping his luck had changed maybe some food, he ran off towards the body. However, it wasn’t what he expected. “What is a lioness doing out here in this heat?” He scooped her up on his back and off to a cooler part of the desert. The lioness slept until night fall. She awoke, “What happened?” Kuzurura nervously chuckled, “I guess you fainted. I brought you some mice. So um, what’s your name?” She looked at him not sure if she could trust him, “My name is Huzuni.” Kuzurura was nervous he didn't know he finally asked, “Why are you out in the desert?” Huzuni replying, “Well, it’s a long story if you want to hear.” Memorized by her, he couldn't stop listening to her words of how she wound up in the desert.

As the months passed, things changed the two strangers became best friends and mates. Huzuni was pregnant; Kuzurura was feeling like a proud lion. Dry season was there and the lack of food was putting them in a bind. He knew her due date was coming, and he had to find a place for his family to live .The desert was fine when it was just him and Huzuni. He now needed to find a lush land with animals to hunt endless supply of food for his soon to be family. He said his goodbyes to her, and crossed into the desert. He kept pushing himself to the brink of exhaustion finally collapsing. He awoke during the night not remembering what happened, but realizing the ground was soft under him. It was grass. He looked up, and saw animals scattered. His eyes and mouth watered. “Yes, I found a place, a safe place!” he shouted loudly across the lands.

He started running immediately back to his home. The sun was slowly rising through the desert; he found two bite marks on his front leg. He began looking around for the source. A snake had struck him, a deadly puff adder. Watching the venomous snake slither away he became enraged, but his enraged feelings turned to fear. He was afraid he would die from the bite. It didn’t matter though, he needed to get Huzuni. Morning arrived; he made it home in time to tell Huzuni the great news. He could tell she was starving when he arrived. “Huzuni I have found a place for us, it’s going to be a long while. My leg somewhat hurts, I tripped over some rocks. So, we’ll have to take it slow.” Huzuni nodded walking on the right side of him. He knew they would make it by nightfall regardless the pace. Halfway through the desert he began to limp Huzuni didn’t notice. He made sure of it, he wanted her calm. Eventually, though he fainted. Huzuni went into a panic. He looked up at her told her to keep going follow his tracks to the grass. She didn’t want to leave him alone. She looked at his forearm, “A SNAKE bit you? Why didn’t you say anything?” Kuzurura chuckled, “Why should I make pretty you worry? Just do what I say go on. I’ll catch up to you I promise.” She looked at him, worried about his safety. I’ll get help for you Kuzurura I promise. She ran exhausted and starved following his paw prints in the sand with the sun beating down on her. By nightfall, she made it; she smelled the grass and fainted. A dark figure approached her while she slept.

The next morning, she awoke to the smell of meat. “I see you’re awake.” A voice echoed in the front of the entrance to the den. “Who are you?” Huzuni nervously asked. The figure approached her, a tall lion with a curly mane. “My name is Dumaka and this is my territory the eastlands don’t worry you’re safe here. I saw you on my patrol; you looked like you were starving.” She began to panic and told the story to Dumaka about how her mate was still out there. He explained to her he followed the paw prints back towards the desert after bringing her to the den, but there was nothing. No body, no lion, nothing was there. All he could say was, “I’m sorry. I did look” Tears fell down her face, she cried days and nights. A few days later, Huzuni eventually gave birth to her daughter. Sadness fell onto her as she didn’t know where Kuzurura was or if he was still alive. All she could see when she looked at her newborn was Kuzurura, she smiled for a moment, “My Akina, I never let anything happen to you. I promise.”

I have to say I had fun with this. However, I am not the best writer or grammar person. Math was always my best subject.
